Jif peanut butter is being recalled for potential salmonella contamination
J.M. Smucker Co., the parent company for the popular peanut butter brand, issued a voluntary recall on Friday
Multiple Jif peanut butter products are being recalled due to an outbreak of salmonella linked to a Lexington, Ky., manufacturing facility.
Currently, 14 people have reported illnesses and two of those cases have resulted in hospitalizations

States reporting salmonella cases are Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
If you happen to have a jar included in the recall, you should throw it away immediately.
The recalled products have lot code numbers between 1274425 – 2140425 and include the numbers 425 for the 5th-7th digits. "425".
